I am a licensed barber with 2 years of experience. Since I don't want to rent a booth and I don't like to stay inside one salon for most of the day, I am thinking of cutting my clients' hair at their own homes. My solon charges $20 / person at this moment for those clients. I am wondering how much I should charge for this in-home service, at the same time cover my own expenses (gas, insurance, wage, etc.). Also, how much do you think people are willing to pay? Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

Do you have your business license for this...In Home work?

If not, you can't really advertise...to charge fixed fees. Ck into this a bit more before you begin your venture.

I think offering these services...for home-bound people is a wonderful thing.

I hope this works out well for you.

I don't know where you live but here where I live in Ohio hair cuts are like 10.00-13.00 dollars. If you want a perm or highlights or it shampooed of course its going to cost a bit more. I cut people that I know, hair for free. However there are lots of people who would like you to bring your services to them. For you coming to them and just to cut their hair nothing more. I would charge about $ 12.00-15.00 dollars. 15.00 for the customers which you have longer driving distance to get to.
The lady who cuts my hair I either go to her home or she comes to mine. She charges me $10.00 -$12.00 dollars. Plus I always give her a $5.00 tip. I would NEVER pay 20.00 for someone to just cut my hair. I can do that my self for free. I could see 20.00 if it included a washing their hair, cutting it, and styling it as well.

The lady that cuts my hair does it at her home and the price is the same as the shops... You still travel, whether it be to her home or the shop,,, same thing to me.
