What does Networking externally mean? (I have checked my books and my notes that my professor gave us but it is not mentioned anywhere.)

I just took a marketing class. It means to be able to get information for market research from and externally source, such as another company or a firm that collects surveys and such, instead of collecting it on your own. External networking can save you lots of money rather then having to do it in hows. Keep in mind that it has drawbacks as well, such as not being to ask specific questions your firms might have.

Networking outside of the company you are working for. If you network internally, you network with your co-workers and people of other departments. Both are important in a big organization.
