mine was a curly perm back in the early 80's, the hair dresser said that i would look like farrar fawcett....never did look like that, but i did resemble my nans poodle for a while, my mates ribbed me for weeks....lol...whats your worst hair style and did you get any stick from your friends?

Up until i was about 5 my hair would not grow at all. it was short and curly and red so i looked like a short haired poodle. I get stick for photos cos they look very stupid. It looked like my hair was growing back from an argument with my hairdresser or somethin! Luckily, it started to grow and now it's shoulder length and tamed with straighteners!!

Looking back...they were all awful...I think the one I have now is tops...but then next year..on reflection..I would probably think this one was too!!

I thought my Purdie Style was cool....but then so was my Farrah Fawcett flick......then I had that poodle perm just like you...then I went to the Chrystal Tips stage....but my Mum swears by that page boy style I had!! Then I went off perms....and got into colour....and now I can't remember what colour I'm suppose to be....but one things for sure...I wasn't this dark!!!

Remember once going to work...and hiding in the women's toilets all day....as I'd had a disastrous perm!!

All I ever wanted was a few ringlets!! :o(

My mom made me get a perm when I was 12. I have really fine hair so it looked like I stuck my finger in an electrical socket. I had these really straight bangs too that I curled into this perfect sausage shape every day. My friends were really nice and didn't give me a hard time about it. I'm glad I didn't have too many pictures taken those 2 years while I had it!

Yesss! that`s exactly what I was going to say...it was supposed to be a spiral perm. But had to go back about 3 times as kept dropping out..the smell of perming solution, and being told not to wash it for days...then it would go straight...screammmm! No stick from my mates, but an earlier memory was my sister coming home from a hairdresser and washing her tight perm....sods law...she was stuck with that poodle perm...and she got stick from everyone, not only friends!

Anybody remember the Avengers? When Joanna Lumley used to play Purdy? Well I once had my hair cut like that, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I too made the mistake of trying a perm, not once but twice. Both failed, I wanted the shaggy look, but got a young Micheal Jackson.
Needless to say, never no more. I keep with the 1970's feather cut, at least it suits me.

Perm on the top with hair to my shoulders that was straight. Yes it was the early 80's
I'm not sure what induced me, some short term trend I guess as I remember one of my buddies had something similar too.

Big hair during the 80's...teased bangs that went straight up and out in front, big sides that went out like elephant ears...TONS of hair spray. I think most people's bad hair will come from the 80's...what a tacky decade!

When I was little my mam used to cut my hair. Once she trying to cut it short to a style that was quite trendy at the time, but I ended up looking like Rod Stuart! I was only eight and it has scarred me for life, I cringe when I look back at photo's. What the hell was she thinking???
