i haven't seen those two movies and am wondering if the "the exorcist" or "the shining" are really scary?

The Exorcist is the scariest movie I have EVER seen. Get the extended version, more scenes that will have you crying. The Shining was scary, but only when I was younger. It's not so scary now, but still it's worth a shot. I have chills now. Don't watch it alone.

That of course depends...the exorcist scared some people...I don't think The Shining was terribly scary, but it was a GREAT movie, old - but GREAT! You must see it!

I didn't find the exorcist scary- maybe there is something wrong with me- but the twins from the original shining were scary as hell! redrum

The exorcist does nothing for me, but it's entertaining.
Maybe it's because the first time I saw it, I was like 8, but the Shining has always scared the crap out of me....soooo crreeeeeppy. 250,000 square feet of hotel, deserted mountain, alll alone......yeah I'm out buddy!

i think the exorcist is really scary and parts of the shinning were pretty scary

the exorcist was really scary in my opinion, it made me wanna puke, the shining isn't that bad, it's kinda creepy but not to bad.
