hey, remember the chunky, bassy, pop/rock/punk sound of the early 90s bands like the offspring and old green day?it seems like those bands mature too fast. before all this emo crap and the pop-punk boom.that form of pop-punk rock was definetly cool and definetly rock. no whiney voices. check out "self-esteem" "when i come around" and "don't call me white" if you don't know what im talking about, and if you do, then tell me about it. i'm the lead vocalist for my punk-influenced rock band, and i'm looking for something to base my originality on. where did this sound go and do you want it back?

I want it back! I hate all this emo ****- plus looking at guys who wear more makeup than me is a little odd! Even though I look back and really wonder how I enjoyed Guns N Roses and their tight tight pants. I love Green Day and am a big Pearl Jam fan. Which is great when you go to concerts now (Saw them both within the last year) and see all these "Old heads" (even though I am only 25) I want that music back!

Like everything else, music has turned disposable.
Enjoy it fast because something new is just around the corner.
Bands must keep up the pace and some of their essence dies in sales name.
I also like Greenday and Offspring but have to enjoy it fast because I know that, like this, they won't last...

I always liked The Offspring, too! "Bad Habit", "Genocide" and "Come Out and Play" off the album Smash were my faves! This is the third question about The Offspring I've answered today! Thanks to you guys, I pulled out my old Smash CD and have been listening all day! I miss that type of music, too.

another great band with a unique and unheard sound is Sublime not only did they have a wide variety of music but they had great lyrics. would have loved to watch that band mature. Brad Nowell had a lot of talent and i am sure they would have had staying power
