I work with a woman who is constantly snippy and snotty and I'm constantly nice and smiling even when she acts this way. Also people that work in customer service are often not nice like I would hope and expect them to, what do they think "customer service" means. I hate going up to buy something, saying Hi, how are you, and not getting an answer and just a rude "42.57". you know?

Next time the lady you work with is rude go out and get her a cup of coffee or some little thing, then when she asks you what is this for, just smile at her and tell her you thought it would be a nice gesture to make her day better, that you noticed she seemed to be having a bad day and you just wanted to make it better. This will give something to think about, maybe she just needs to know someone cares about what kind of day she is having. As far as customer service, report them to the head department of where they work. Or simply ask them if they come by being rude naturally or did it take a lot of practice?

I know what you mean...when the only thing the cashier says the entire time is the amount you owe and they kind of give a dirty look like you are disturbing them and sometimes they practically throw your change at you! If they hate their job so much, they should get a different one...preferably without any customer contact!

I'm like you, when people are rude or snotty, I tend to get nicer...and sometimes that seems to annoy these 'unhappy' people. But I believe, some people are not 'happy' unless they are 'unhappy'...sad really...

#1: Assuming, that is ya' real mugg (???)...JELLO FEMALES!!!

And YES, I'm a straight mature woman...But can still compliment true beauty!!! Most other females, can't!!!

I get this treatment often myself!!!

When I speak and, other person doesn't...I politely answer for 'em!!!

As for "Customer Service"...That is a gig of the past!!!

Personally...I feel the WHOLE world should have to work for average wage of a waiter/waitress...$2.99 (???) an hour plus, TIPS!!! For a minimum of one year!!!

T = Tips
I = Insure
P = Prompt
S = Service

I KNOW we'd see a dif' tude'!!!

TY sooo very much for an excellent question!!! One I couldn't wait to answer!!!

I have found this to be true of many East Coast people. What I think it is is that the population density is such that life becomes a continues struggle for resources for them. They cannot identify with their fellow man because everything is a competition for them. Hence they wind up embittered and act like an @$$hole in a show of some sort of East Coast bravado or machismo. Its really quite sad.

I mean its crowded where I live in the midwest too, but nobody acts like an azz about it. Common courtesy must always be cherished and not taken for granted.

I know I'm rude when I'm unhappy.

Maybe this woman has something going on in her life. You could talk to her and find out what her problem is.

Women are rude because they have flat feet and ugly toes. They realize how ugly their feet are and they cant help the fact that they are jealous of women like you, a woman with high arches and pretty toes. They know there is nothing they can do to correct this nasty problem so this makes them bitter on a 24/7 basis.
Don't take it personally, they have very ugly flat feet so you should feel sorry for them.

Yes, when I get rude service I take solace in the fact that the rude person is unhappy in their personal life. Keep on being positive, you'll be a better person (and happier) for it.

Yes. I think unhappiness is the cause of most rudeness. The customer service people are mad at the world because they made bad choices in life and work a low wage job. They shouldn't take it out on everyone!

I think that different people are rude for different reasons, but in general, yes, I do think that a strong component of rudeness is unhappiness with their own lives.

BTW, nice Y! nickname you have (VerdeOjos), just a tiny suggestion. If you want it to be "GreenEyes" in Spanish, the correct way to say it would be "OjosVerdes" in Spanish, the adjective goes after the subject and should be pluralized when the subject is plural (as in Ojos).

Cheers!

Being rude makes some people fell better for some odd reason it make them feel more important and stronger than someone they see as nice,when dealing with rude people I tend to be sickening sweet therefore it irritates them more cause then they have no one to fight with or bring down
