How old do you have to be in order to drive a atv (quad) in Carmel NY. And what are the rules, like can you drive in the street or your own provate property? thanks

Most ATV manufacturers have age limits for their models. They're on a decal on the fender of each ATV. Also, you can't take an ATV safety course on an ATV that the decal says you can't operate.
In most areas ATV's are not street legal and you will get a fine if caught on the street.
Check with your state bureau of motor vehicles for info on the state you're in.
In most states you can get a sticker to ride in designated ATV areas.

I thought all those tree huggers up there passed a law that no one can ride an ATV because it disturbs wildlife or something like that LOL. I shouldn't laugh though it might happen here in PA soon too.
