The oldest profession is gong out with your friends looking for food, either plants that might be edible or animals that you might kill.
The proper term for this is "hunting and gathering" and it dates from the beginning of human society.
I would suppose that sleeping with somebody so he will give you some of his food could be the origin of prostitution.
