First you would perform any actions in the parenthesis, because 7 can't be added to an unknown, next you would add 11 + 24 giving you 35 + (7+ n), since it is addition problem you would drop the parenthesis, 35 + 7 + n add the two numbers and that gives you 42 + n. Always perform:

Rule 2: Next perform all multiplications and divisions, working from left to right.
Rule 3: Lastly, perform all additions and subtractions, working from left to right.

siplified this is 11+24or 35+7 =n or 42+n
so if this = 0 for example n would be negitive 42

n is the unknown number so that is waht you want to solve for or are you suppose to simplify it? well lets say you have to simplify it
