Condoms are safe because they prevent STD's and pregnancy. But they can break (cheap condoms have less quality then the expensive ones). Remember never to use a condom twice. If you are sexually active I recommend you not only use a condom but also take birth control pills. I recommend lifestyles and Trojan

Most latex condoms, when used properly, decrease the likehood of transmitting/receiving STDs to nearly 100%. This is not the case with "lambskin" condoms - avoid these.
Of course, the key is using it properly, with a spermicidal lubricant that is the right type for the condom (water-based, nor oil-based for a latex condom).

Condoms, properly used have a 96 to 98 % effectiveness rating depending on what source you look at. The key is "Properly Used"

The condom is very safe, but sometimes could possibly explode when the male ejaculates. It will not explode if it is put on the penis correctly.

safe, I have been active for a while, and there has never been any scares. As long as he puts it on right, and you never reuse it, or use it for anal sex you should be fine.
The safest sex is no sex, but if your active, use codoms.
Me and my girl prefer Lifestyles condoms :)

Not very. It won't protect from STDs and I have a friend who's daughter is a "condom baby".

Not safe from HIV/AIDs.
Depends on what type, etc.
Next best thing to abstinence in terms of getting STDs or impregnating someone.
