I believe so. I had to have one done and it was just for a cashiers job. Then we were randomly tested after that. Years ago it wasn't as strict but now a days most jobs call for drug testing.

In California mostly all positons ask for drug testing, especially in retail.

Depends on the company. Target, for example, tests everyone. I've worked in a couple of stores that did random tests, and two that did none at all.

i can not think of any job [nowadays] that do not require drug tests prior to being hired, and also random tests are given often.....
