Today there was another shooting in PA, and schools locked down in Las Vegas. What is causing this harmful environment? Are kids prone to the games they play, or is it the parents should have taken more interest in their discipline in early years? Such a waste of life.

This has been on my mind a lot lately. Ultimately violence is a result of the break-down of society. Society breaks down when families break down. These people who have attacked innocent students have some major problems... that probably started a long time ago.

How can we protect ourselves from these people who are so unstable? I think we have to do a better job of looking out for each other. We need to get to know our neighbors. While it may be necessary to provide better security in schools, I think schools need to have a plan of defense for how to handle such situations since they are on the rise. We've got to start defending ourselves and each other.

I asked myself the same question. I can only assume that these troubled people, want to die and want their deaths to be spectacular, making the news, TV etc. They usually have something to say to a loved one before, or via mail after the event takes place. It might be their way to make someone who hurt them, think that they are responsible for what the killer did. What ever the reason, there has to be a way to stop it. If kids can't be safe in school, where can they be safe?

Sadly two of the last shooting were not from children in the schools, they were random guys with guns who attacked the schools. It's sad, but I don't know the cause.

it is not the kids in PA but an adult who was supposedly acting out from some experience he had in high school. I think that it is a general lack of respect for oneself and others, and a ploy for attention, even the negative kind. People just don't care about their welfare or the welfare of others.

You are aware that most of these tragedies are perpetrated on children by adults. So no matter what games are being played by children they are of no consequence here. It is a waste of life. Both for the victims and the killer.
