Even though they are probably not the sort of films that you're looking for, I'm a big fan of the taxi films. I think they're very stylishly shot, funny and well acted (plus the accent is always good). I've got a copy of le boucher that I keep meaning to watch but haven't got round to yet and, even though it's very dark, I've also got a copy of Baise Moi to view. Since you've brought it up I may get onto them now.

I love French movies, especially Amelie and L'Auberge Espagnole, both of which I have seen recently and really enjoyed. Audrey Tatou is the French national treasure!

I cannot tell you the movie titles, but I love foreign movies in general. I don't mind at all reading the subtitles. As for French particularly, I love that language as much as I like Italian and Spanish.

Bon voyage--a WWII-era story about a writer who's in love with an actress, and he gets arrested. He pursues her, and also gets involved with trying to prevent the Germans from getting heavy water.
I also like: La belle et la bête, Comédie d'innocence, La règle du jeu, Le charme discrèt de la bougeoisie, and Ascenseur pour l'échafaud.

The last French movie I saw was, "Nouvelle-France". I like Gerard Depardieu and "Germinal" was really good.

Definitely. some recent good ones - cache, the beat that my heart skipped, read my lips. All really good in different ways.
