Her country is NOT considering her ban! It's the islamic clerics/conservatives who find her clothing objectionable because she is muslim as well. India is proud to have her, I believe. Apart from that and an occasional coverage in tennis; she's NOT getting a lotta media attention. I watch a lotta tennis and I've never seen her play (US TV). She's just on this tennis Q&A a lot.

Her country is considering abandoning her because of the clothes she wears - women are not supposed to show skin and the tennis clothes she wears violate the religious rules of her country. Also, women aren't supposed to work and earn money, and since she is a professional tennis player, she is also violating those 'rules' as well. And people think America is screwed up?
