The main characters are Snowball and Napoleon (pigs). Basically this book is about the Russian Revolution so i guess you can say that you learned that you can't be consumed and corrupted by power as then the one person or in can case pig that was with you can easily turn against you and betray you.

I learned that Communism and Socialism are bad ideas. And also, any idea can start out to be a good idea, but once those in power abuse their power (and they will) and government can be bad government.
I think the moral of the story is for the people to hold their government accountable, and not sit idly by. We know what they should be doing, it is out responsibility to make them do what they should be doing. If government abuses its power, it is our responsibility to take that power away from them... because if we don't then it becomes our own fault.

As far as who the main character was, I don't think there was one. I do recommend you reading the book, or get it on audio book, because it is a very good story.
