I have read somewhere that the manga has a better explanation. Could anyone tell me who were the blade children? Or at least a good english site where they explain everything? I really have no chance in getting the manga and I would really like to know. From what I surfed on the net I couldn't find any good sites. Thanks

Try looking for scanlations of the manga. It goes a lot farther than the anime, although I cn't read it so I can't tell you much of anything. XD;;

All I know is that, yes, the anime ending was bad... but that's just because the manga didn't have an ending itself at the time (not sure if it does now). All I can say is... the Blade Children are people who are supposed to cause death and destruction. I'm not sure how this came about, but that apparently, as they get older, it seems to cause health problems for them (Eyes having mysterious pain, anyone?). The irony of the story is supposed to be that the Blade Children have no desire to do evil... and that the hunters themselves, who are trying to kill the children to protect the world from death and destruction, CAUSE that death and destruction by chasing recklessly after teenagers who would otherwise show no interest in misbehavior.

Kanone is a prime example of this problem... as a child he was perfectly kind, but his life was so tormented by the fact that he could never be accepted because people thought he would hurt them, that he decided he WOULD hurt them, because being a cold-hearted killer is easier than trying to feel for people when all you get in return is fear and rejection.

Basically, the themes of the story are easy to see, but still, I really wish I could understand what makes the Blade Children who they are, and how Narumi-san found out about it in the first place~

Join the club! I just did a search, and I really didn't see any good sites either, sorry. I really liked the anime, but I was disappointed at the lack of explanation. Although I must say, Kanone was one of the best psycho villains I've seen. I mean, I thought he was definitely weird, but I was actually shocked at how crazy he actually was. But anyway, I almost think the creator of Spiral couldn't answer his own question, so he just decided not to. I know it's a lost cause, but I'm hoping for a sequel. And...I really have no idea what/who the Blade Children are. It's frustrating, but a lot of anime/manga are like that, totally without a conclusive ending. And as I always say, that's what fanfiction is for. ^_^
