Charcoal canister vent valve open circuit and leakage is the most common cause second is something flipped up and cracked the charcoal canister. Repair the evaporative emissions system and clear code in a few days if the light stays off you know it is fixed.

If gas cap is taken off while car is running, it can trigger this code. Also if gas cap is leaking or not tightly installed. Pull battery cable and turn on headlights to clear code. Turn off lights and reinstall bat cable.
