Take it from a man. Do not say anything just put your arms around him and hold him and if he cries or if he does not DO NOT push the issue. Men deal with loss of loved ones in different ways but all do not want to be pushed or psychoanalyzed.

Just be supportive and listen and do your best to give comfort by hugging him or rubbing his back etc. Sometimes when you just don't know what to say just hold his hand and tell him that he will get through this and that you will be there for him to help him through it.

Just listen...there isnt anything you can say or do to make him feel better except let him talk. I know it's hard when you want to fix it, but nothing fixes the pain and it always helps to have someone listening.

You let him talk. You listen and you said you understand and that you are so sorry for his loss...and you listen some more. There is nothing more that you need to do, but be there for him. Hug him, let him cry if he wants...just listen and be there.

dont bring up the subject to him. act like you always have and wait until he' s ready to talk about it. just listen, tell him you understand and tell him you'll be there for comfort and support.
