International Business can be a very, very broad field, and can be viewed as lacking focus. Many of today's firms are international, but may not necessarily require a degree in *international* something. Try entering "international business" as a key word on job search engines and see what kind of firms are out there and what their job descriptions are, and also what they have listed as qualifications.
You will likely find that these job ads list specific skills within IB. I would urge you to explore a specialty within IB, such as finance, marketing, laws, etc. What is it about IB that you like? What industry do you see yourself working in? Finally, what are your strengths (again, focus on special areas of IB)?
Assuming that you are still in the early phase of college career, try to narrow down your area of specialty, and ask your advisor about IB degree with a minor in more specific area. Meanwhile, do explore internship opportunities.

Your double most important notion is a well one. If you get a task, it's going to be quite at ease and 'fruitful.' However, take a look at going into tuition with an open brain... you can be amazed what you could bump into. Bon threat!
