You have a browser hijacker on your PC.
Like adware and spyware, a browser hijacker may be installed as part of freeware installation. In this case, the browser hijacker is probably mentioned in the user agreement -- although, obviously, not identified as a browser hijacker. The problem is that users typically either ignore the fine print or only give it a cursory reading. A browser hijacker may also be installed without user permission, as the result of an infected e-mail, a file share, or a drive-by download. To avoid contamination, experts advise users to read user agreements carefully, and to be cautious about freeware downloads and e-mail messages from unknown sources.

It's not a virus but spyware or adware. This is not always picked up by virus scanners. I would recommend that you have installed 1) a virus scanner, 2) a firewall, 3) an adware scanner, 4 a spyware scanner and 5) a spyware blocker. I know it's a lot of hassle but less so than getting infected! If you do like cuite says you'll be OK.

most likely is that you have spyware and not a virus, you should be able to stop it with anti spyware such as lavasoft (ad-aware, www.lavasoft.com) or zonelabs (zone alarm, www.zonelabs.com) both these programs are free, well trial only for zonealarm but ad-aware is free, and zonealarm comes with a firewall which with any luck will stop you getting any more hijack attempts which is what normally causes the spyware and homepage changes in the first place. hope this helps

Its spyware 100%. It re-directs your browser to its site to download its self constantly. You have some very good answers to your question, I have tried many of the above. I have just tried Eiwdo from AVG. It did a great job.
