Forced to yes or no, I'd have to say ''yeah sure''. I just think the industry has been IRRESPONSIBLE in promoting overly gaunt figures.

Let's be honest, though. The flip side of this is that, while the average person is not stick thin (so that you might wonder why models should be stick thin) the average person is -- according to medical authorities -- overweight.

Let's not use the example of skeleton-like models to let the average person off the hook for being so overweight they are unhealthy. The fashion industry is a fantasy place like Hollywood. In Hollywood, they want everyone handsome or beautiful; in the fashion world, they want everyone bony.

I am way more concerned with the average person's state of health than the artificial standards of a small industry. Through the decades, people's weight has been sliding up, at least in America. This is disturbing, and must be addressed.

No. Just like larger models should not be made illegal.

I do feel that *realistic* models should be used.....but women come in all sizes, and i do not think it fair that anyone should be banned from modelling just because their size does not match what the industry deems "acceptable" at any given moment.

So maybe there are too many "super skinny" models out there.....but i would still include them, along with average-sized and larger-sized models. And the full range of ethnicities and (adult) ages, as well. Models should represent the population. *All* the population.

No I don't think it should be illegal. I do think however that they need to have models with every body shape. Super skinny, curvy, etc. In America especially, there are a lot of overweight people. Not necessarily fat, but statistics show that we are very overweight. Now - with that said...Those super skinny models do not really depict all of us. They need to have other models with other body types. Super skinny is not in!!!

super duper skinny - yeah. Especially since the 'average' model is a size 0 or 2 and the 'average' woman is size 12 or 14!!!
