I wouldn't say forget. I think they would put them to one side and work together in order to increase their chances of survival, then go straight back to killing each other again.

No. Not in that simple and straight way. There are to many basically different possibilities to judge such a threat and to react to it. At any rate, there would be some people and groups trying to gather leadership and power about the ones frightened and unable to make decisions and take steps. And others would quickly take chances to make profits. There would soon rise competitions for and conflicts around and about power and profits.
Common threats can unite overlookable and defined communities for a limited time. It is unlikely, that a threat impacts all mankind at the same time in the same way.
However, there could be an impressive and encouraging wave of solidarity round the world wich might have a sustaining impact on the further process of globalisation.

I think that we would come together, more or less, to face a common enemy, such as an alien invasion. But if we were able to repel the invaders, we'd probably start fighting again over who would possess the alien technology and then have have an arms race, similar to the cold war. Protection is the most basic function of cooperative behavior, but in the absence of a threat, we fragment into smaller groups and then turn on each other.

Isn't it inevitable ..biological and astrological attacks on man kind been going on for 1000's of years ie Hiv.small pocks..all kinds of biological sickness ..killer flu..also biological weapons of war..asteroids.and all sorts of rocks
been pounding this planet from the day it's been created
eventual threat is very real ....
Invasion from other worlds ???I got a feeling we the human kind is the aggressor ..i have the feeling we will do the invading of other living beings ..it in our nature to destroy any thing that is good ..and we Begin by destroying our own planet..
So you see ..the sooner we are eliminated from the face of earth .. the better it will be for the universe..
because we Are the biological filth

Take a look at New Orleans. Many didn't work too well together. Many pilaged and robbed homes saying they were taking what they needed but carrying out every piece of electronics known to man.
On the other hand the people in Mississipi were experiencing the same thing and didn't act that way.
I think it will depend on the depravity of the people in the area.

You mean like the population of New Orleans? I would like to believe that people would work together under such circumstances, but there will always be the sludge of the World taking advantage of every situation. That is why the law should be far more severe towards the lawbreakers, under emergency conditions .

No--Muslims and Jews will never be able to work side-by-side and even if they tried, terrorists would blow them both up in their efforts. Of course an invasion from another world, a la War of the Worlds, might bring Republicans and Democrats closer.

Yes for sure... There are actually very little country's that would be able to deal with such a problem, the biggest i can think of is America, England and China, oh and Russia. The "differences" is with places like Afganistan, but they wont be able to do anything, anyway. So why worry bout them.

Well, I hope so. Because some humans can be very mean to other humans. Some groups might even try to team up with the invaders
(like aliens, lol). But in reality, not all humans will think alike, even in cases such as the one u sited.

Nope. Some would always be looking for a way to escape the threat themselves, while allowing the catastrophe to strike all the others.
