The world goes to Hell in a Handbasket as each generation ages and the changes in the world as they knew it as young people/adults is no longer the world they knew and liked. Old folks do not accept change gracefully and the term "gone to hell in a handbasket" creeps into their vocabulary. So, I would say that the world goes there at least once in every generation. Who is holding the handbasket? Why, the generation that is replacing them as the dominant generation of the time!.And I agree----The world has gone to hell in a handbasket!

ok what is up with you? You are "Mr. Postitive-give-everyone-the-benefit-of-the-doubt Person." Don't go all cynical on me. The world is not going to heck.......and certainly not in a handbasket. Those are so 20th century. Everything is done in faux leather these days. And hey......that's a plus. Not a single cow has to give up his life just for us to go to He**.

Now....with that little bit of happy shiny news......perk up and continue down that path to the ultimate life experience. got it? *smacks his rear end and sends him on his way*

You know what? I don't believe it is. I think that there has always been horrible things happening in the world but now we know about them right away. I believe that there has always been murder, torture, sickness and suffering in the world. I also believe that there is so much goodness and that the world is improving. I am saddened and shocked by the recent goings on but I'm not sure this a sign of immanent apocalypse.
Please don't book your package tour of hell right this moment.

Not saying that this is fact but.....

When couples became so self absorbed that they left the kids home to raise themselves, without discipline, guidance or role model to learn from.

That kinda pushed it over the edge. Those children are the ones that are raising the future.

I am not sure, but 9/11 certainly exacerbated it. But this school crap is really getting out of hand, big time. I think it should be against the law to put it on the news when it happens, CAN YOU SAY COPYCAT?
