I think because we are all a bit ego-centric, our first thoughts always point to what we "know". As an American, I just kind of assume that I'm talking to other Americans, however I learned after answering one question, I was talking to a Spaniard. Hmm. . .interesting. . .by the way, Hi!

Its not the people who answer - its the people who ask the questions who assume that everybody is from the U.S. when by far the majority of people in the world are anything but. Yahoo is a search engine, but do they use it to research their answers - no - they want other people to do it for them. A bit like Pooh bear - very little brain.

Because Americans do make up the majority of English (as a first language) speakers in the world. Not to mention that we generally don't like contact with other cultures and don't care much for cultural identidy.

not all of us do:) but it could be beacuse they have never looked at the bottom of the page and saw all the little flags that show the different countries represented here......... you know the inability to see the details????(or is it to see what is beyond the end of your nose)
