Found out I was pregnant on July 19. Had miscarriage on July 26. Had sex with another man (not my husband) on July 31-August 5. Husband and I were separated. Husband and I got back together and moved to California on August 6 and started having sex again on August 13. Got my regular period after my miscarriage on August 24 and now I recently found out that I am pregnant. My husband is unsure whether this baby could be his but I'm pretty sure that it is. What do you think? Do you think that it could be the other man's even though I had just had a miscarriage and got my period right after we moved to California? Also I did that pregnany calculator online and it says that according to my period I was about 5 weeks and that I concieved on Sept. 8. How accurate could that be?

It IS possible that it is the other man's because it's possible to have a period while you are pregnant.

Now, that being said, it's highly unlikely and I will guess that it IS probably your husband's.

Will the question about who the father is determine whether or not you keep this baby? That's really the bottom line if you ask me.

A sonogram should help sort this out. I'm sorry you got judgemental answers... let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I doubt the answers would be the same if a guy posted about how he had sex with another woman while separated... that's the world we live in though.

I'm not a doctor but in my opinion, I think the baby is your husband's. Let me tell you why, I think this; if you had your regular period after your miscarriage then there is no way the "other guy" can be the father unless you are having a regular period while pregnant (that does happen in some cases). There is also a chance that your estrogen levels and hormones have not yet changed since the miscarriage and you may not be pregnant. I would go to the doctor for confirmation on the pregnancy and if he says you are indeed then I would call your husband the father. Of course a maternity test should be done when the baby is born. Good Luck as I know this is a nail biting situation.

Hello there-

I am not a professional, but myself having lost 2 pregnancies and knowing a little bit about this wanted to through my 2 cents in. it sounds like from what you are explaining that if you had sex in July/August and just found out your pregnant then its probably your husbands. If you were pregnant and didnt get your period in August then it might be the other guys but from what your stating and you only missed one period then it looks like from what i can see that you concieved in September. I dont think you have much to worry about. Dates wouldnt add up and would put you well over 8 weeks if it was the other mans baby. Keep your chin up and good luck with the pregnancy!!!

It's your husband's almost for sure. Since you got your period on August 24th and now are finding out you're pregnant, chances are great that you got pregnant approximately 14 days after your period started so approximately September 7th or 8th. Unless you're one of those people that gets their period the first month of pregnancy, it is your husband's baby. No criticism, but consider this baby very carefully-start therapy with your husband if you haven't and, while congratulations are in order for you, getting pregnant so soon after a miscarriage (and we don't know how far along you were) could lead to the same ending...

Are you supposed to even have sex that soon after a miscarriage?

If you've had one period and now you're pregnant it is most likely your husband's.

You should ask for an ultrasound to determine the age of the baby.

I also suggest that for the sake of your child you and your husband get some marriage counseling. It doesn't sound like your marriage is stable and your child deserves a chance at a healthy family.

You may also be at risk for post partum depression because it is not advised to get pregnant again so soon. Be careful and tell your new doctor.

There is only 1 sure way to find out and that is to have a paternity test when the baby is born. However , The fact that your husband has lost his trust in you may have more serious consequences for the future of the child and your marriage as it will always be uncertain. So you must think of the consequences of having a paternity test as your husbands attitude to the child will be altered if it turns out not to be his. The 2 of you really need to discuse these issues before the baby is born to prevent it from becoming the centre of a battle ground.

GOOD LUCK

ok if the period you had after your miscarriage was on the 24th august, which is 19 days after the last time you had sex with the other man, then i think you can stop worrying,
you have only had sex with your husband since your period so i think it is pretty safe to say that the baby is his.
i wish you well, and good luck to both you and your husband.

First, if you had your period on 8/24 and you stopped having sex with the other man 8/5, then there is NO WAY you could be pregnant with this other man's baby. How could your husband be unsure about this unless he suspects you've been unfaithful since your period. (This is the ONLY timeframe during which you could have gotten pregnant)

You are going to have to get a DNA test.
But even though you had a period you could still be pregnant from the "first" time you thought you were preg. Lots of women have periods even though they are pregnant. You will know more when you get an ultrasound and the doc will confirm how big the baby is and when conception happened.

if you got your period after you had sex with the other man then i think that answers your question.....when you have your first scan the doctor can tell you for sure how many weeks pregnant you are and when you were most likely to concieve so just do the math then...
good luck i hope everything works out...
and also im sure you will get some nags on here lecturing you but pay no attention to them... you and your hubby were seperated so you done nothing wrong.
