I am an adult "only child" and my parents are divorcing. Can you recommend any books or resources that can be helpful?

well I can't say that i can recommend any books for dealing with this. I'm 24 and my parents have been divorced for over 20 years.
.. then they go married to different people...
... then they divorced the different people.. my father is married again...
.. my mother pretty recently went through divorce again.
I never had a book.
what i did have were some really good friends who would listen to me and let me cry on their shoulders.
... a book isn't going to be there for you, but your friends will be.
here are some tips to get you through it (i know, i really do)

1. you need to tell your parents that although you are an adult, it still hurts when they say nasty things about each other to you, it's not fair and you won't accept it!

2. you should not be caught in the middle of it. regardless of age you are their CHILD therefore- they need not involve you in negotiations of things.

I understand that you may want to be involved in some things because you are an adult however- i would advise you for your own sanity that you stay out of it!

I know its really hard and really sad, but it gets easier, it really does. so talk to your friends, its ok to have a good cry, and it might even be good for you to seek out a therapist (just to have someone to talk to about all this)

I've made it through 3 divorces... you can do this! GOOD LUCK!!!

I googled ADULT CHILD DIVORCE SUPPORT and came up with a few. Here's one, but there were lots.

Good luck and be strong for both your parents. Remember, they're going through more than you are, even though it doesn't seem like it right now.
Now, if one parent it totally to blame, I'd have to reconsider where my loyalties lie. That's just me, though.

God is your Shield. Tell them of God's love. Give them Bible and /or buy books on marriage from Christian bookstore.

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!

just kidding remember they both love you though but its unheathy to stay together for childrens sake. both will kind of be miserable without each other wether they know it or not.
best of luck.
