Every kid loves that little idiot. He wasn't around during my Sesame Street days. I have had enough of him. I don't like how he refers to himself in the third person: "OH, Elmo wants to go to the store. Elmo likes Dorothy." Is there any way to get rid of him?

My kids are enamored with Elmo. Honestly, he doesn't annoy me NEARLY as much as The Wiggles or the Teletubbies. At least Elmo speaks English (even if he does refer to himself in the third person). I don't know what the Teletubbies are saying most of the time. They like to repeat their own names a lot, but they can't seem to form complete sentences. As for The Wiggles--they're just f*cking annoying.

An interesting point. And yes, I do remember the old Sesame Street days - and I love the old theme song!
Have you ever noticed - that none of the original SS characters were created totally cute? The Count was quirky; Big Bird was sunny; Cookie Monster was destructive; and Ernie and Bert were always fighting in some way!
But somebody had to screw things up and invent Elmo! Instead of using some swear words, I'll just invite you to look up the word 'cute' in the dictionary. It means ugly but adorable! That's - that 's not cool!

He is more irritating than a Teletubby! Just be glad if you don't have toddlers around who have to have one. He is everywhere!
