I have a 300 gallon concrete aquarium in my greenhouse and have been feeding the perch in it bugs all summer. Fall is here and I need to find something else to feed the fish.

Many farm supply stores now carry "fish pellets" because so many farmers raise fish in their ponds and small lakes. Even people who do not raise fish commercially feed their fish in order to make them grow faster. These pellets cheap and are available in 25 and 50 pound bags. Sounds like the ideal solution to your problem. For what it is worth, I would not feed them dogfood.

Good luck with your fish.

You can buy pellet food that salmon or fish farmer used. They come in 50lb bags or so and is dirt cheap. Otherwise, get some feeder gold fish and guppies and put them in the aquarium. If you have enough plants and hiding in the aquarium, the guppies will even multiply. No sure how many perch you have in the tank, it will make a difference in how this will work.

If u try dog food and they dont like it the food will dissolve and make a mess. I think perch are not picky eaters tho. Try a little dried dog food and see if they like it.........
