Stress is good and bad. The good stress is what allows us to finish a project. Waiting to the last minute? Change the due date to 2 or 3 days sooner

I'm totally the same way! I've got a project in Am.Studies that's not due until February 2007, and I probably won't even think about it 'til January!

You could, if it's homework you're having trouble finishing, get maybe one or two questions finished early each day and as days pass, gradually get more done earlier until you're finishing nearly all your HW early. Or set aside an hour or so after school to get work done - it's so much easier to do homework without all the distractions at home!

Or when you're like, watching TV or something, work on the project during commercials and get maybe one question done every 10 minutes. It's slow, but it's a more fun way to get something done earlier. Just sitting down in a quiet room to try and concentrate on a project may not work for you - I know it wouldn't work for me! My mind would wander and I'd get distracted too easily. :P

Learning how to NOT procrastinate takes practice like anything else you learn to do and be good at. Everyone will tell you to make a list and maybe you tried that. The problem is you want to be perfect at it so when you make a list and find that you make mistakes on your list you tend to set the list aside and tell yourself why bother. But try to realize that your going to make mistakes. Make you a list and do the task that you have on your list right away. When you make a mistake redo the list and try again. This is the way you practice it. Don't give up keep trying you will start seeing improvement and others will see improvement and tell you. That will help your confidence to keep trying. Hope this helps good luck.

To be frank..i relate to your situation as at times such actions at a later stage tend to confuse me as to why??? do i do this when i could do better!!! It's probably something to do with over-confidence that i can do it later...but when the time comes..everything turns hay-wire. The best thing i try to do is start much in advance and go slowly not stressing myself but take time off if i can't concentrate...and then again build-up determination that i have to achieve this goal and continue with the task...Procrastination is sort of an addiction..the more we use it the more we tend to carry that attitude...Once again...be slow in whatever you do but enjoy and always try to smell the goal and it's sweet victory which ought to be a delight!!

They should have category don't most do this. Setting up schedule getting into routine. One thing that works for me when remembered is brake task up into parts. It's very easy for me to blow off cleaning my whole apartment, but much harder to avoid one small area, and that's why keep forgetting. This works with reading, but saying I'll start with fifteen minutes. How many times have you heard someone say, do it piece by piece, if counting add another one.

You need to make a 'to-do' list and pratice doing things on it when you have time...not just the last minuet...try putting it on the fridge or somewhere you look very often...get a dry erase board so you can erase things as they get done.
