what you need to distinguish here, is true homosexualtity, and the practice of homosexual sex. the second has been and is still done in many cultures for various reasons, and is therefore definitely environmental.

the first is more difficult.
some say that he predisposition is genetic. others think it has to do with the balance of certain hormones during preganacy. both have some data in their favor, and maybe both are right.
there is also a strong environmental influence in the actual development of homosexual tendencies from the aforementioned predisposition.

No one is born gay...at birth you are born with mother natures genetalia and instinct to reproduce...homosexuality goes against the cycle of life so it is most definately a choice made by the individual after they are at an understanding level to decide.
