All depends - I had three of them.

One took 8 weeks to recover. (Doc's order's)
Second one took 8 weeks to recover. (Doc's orders)

In both cases doc was right - I tried to push it and paid for it. 3rd one and that took 12 weeks to recover. Did I learn my lesson and listen to my doc?? You bet I did!

It depends on the severity of the herniation, how much has to be done to repair it and your own ability to heal. The doctor/surgeon should be able to give you a guesstimate.

You really ought to ask your doctor, cos we don't know how serious this hernia is.
