Yes. The NHS was set up in the first place to help very poor people to access medical care without having to find the money to do so. It was also set up to help all people irrespective of their circumstances, therefore if a very drunk man fell down in the street and hit his head, they would treat him, not say it is because he was drunk therefore it is his own fault.
People's National Insurance Contributions and Taxes go towards funding the NHS. Therefore it is wrong of the NHS to say to smokers, we will not help you, because smokers pay far more into the NHS than anyone else. It is also wrong to say to fat people we will not treat you, because fat people also pay taxes.

No definitely not except for emergencys/accidents it is time to exclude all foreign nationals who have not contributed to the costs for at least 6 months. I am tired of seeing the do gooder's wasting our limited resources on things the majority given a say would exclude from free care. If you need hospital attention abroad you will have to pay for it, hence travel/medical insurance.
Why should we be the only country in the world giving it away?

Do a bit of googling around the subject and listen to things like 'You & Yours' on Radio 4- they nearly always have something on the NHS.
Come on, you must be a user, so must friends and family - ask them what they think and get ideas that way.
It really is not good for you to be asking people to do the work for you. The point is to stretch those brain cells a little.
Hot topics to get you started are - the demographic time bomb as the baby boomer generation age, should we treat certain groups of people at all, rationing health care.
