Well it isn't just Musicals, Hollywood doesn't have the great writing teams.....have you noticed that everything made lately is a remake or sequel? Plus, in the days of good musicals singers could act and actors could sing.....except Natalie Wood in 'Westside Story' her songs were dubbed. Disney has been trying to bring it back and doing a good job.

Because people finally grew up and realized how absurd musicals are. Case in point... The Sound of Music. Hey were escaping from the Natzis, but let's take a time out to break into song...

"Chicago" came out a little while ago and did quite well. The industry has changed to reflect the demand of the consumers and musicals are pretty much a thing of the past.

They have made--Phantom of the Opera, Chicago and also High School Musical lately and they all seem to have done well.
