which part of the field of nursing you choose depends in large part on why you want to be a nurse. I went into cardiac nursing because of a long history of heart disease in my family, have spent thirty years working in ICU/CCU and loved every minute of it.
I've known others who for other reasons chose other fields. You know why you want to be a nurse, then you know which field to go into.

I was interested in a Nursing Career as well. But working full time will be hard! They say its a rigorous program to do while working full time so they recommend you to work part time if anything. I think a Forensic Nurse would be a great or a Pediatric Nurse, But with the baby boomers. A lot of nurses will be cleaning adult diapers!

Well it depends on your interests. I love women's health, babies, pregnancy and all that good stuff, so I wouldn't mind working in L&D, or maybe even working for a doctor's office. My second choice is Pediatrics. My third is ER. Eventually, I want to be either a Family or Women's Nurse Practitioner, or a Nurse-Midwife.
I'm still taking my basics before I get into nursing school, and it could be trying. But I know it will be worth it in the end. =)

Well, my grandmother was an LPN - Practical Nurse, but she told me to become an RN - Registered Nurse because you get to tell the other nurses what to do and you don't have to wipe any bottoms or do any of the dirty work. An RN can also be priveleged enough to have an office job if that's what you choose.

you will have to decide which area you have a interest in hun. I have been in geratrics for 19 years now and would not trade if for anything. (the elderly).
You must possess the skill of having empathy, and to really care for patients as people, not just a job.
Nursing is very very hard work, physically and mentally challenging. I wish you success in whatever you choose to do!
