what's a class "dj" license?

In the USA, a Class D MVO license is good for vehicles up to the greater of 26,000 lbs GVWR or 26,000 lbs GCWR;

However, a class D MVO license *does not* allow

(a) the commercial transport of any number of passengers, or

(b) the driving of a passenger vehicle having a total of more than 15 seating positions (which is why the largest "passenger vans" sold by POV dealers only have 15 seats).

To legally haul more than 14 passengers, you need a Class C "Chauffeur's license" (or, as some CMVs designed to haul passengers exceed the limits of a Class D license, the chauffeur endorsement prescribed by your state).

It's been a while since I was involved on that end, but you might have to have a Class D if your GVWR/GCWR is over 10,000 lbs.
