Thought about starting my own business. There is a little competiton nearby and I was just wondering of all the benefits of starting ones own business would be, other than working for a different company.

Having had a couple of businesses in my life I can tell you, it's not for everyone. The benefits are pretty obvious, such as 'being you own boss' and not having to answer to someone for everything you do. Your time is you own, but you will probably find a business takes far more of your time than if you were working a 'job'. There is no-one else to blame for your mistakes, but you also get to take full credit for your successes. There is a direct relationship between having the 'business sense' to manage the many daily headaches of your own business, whatever it is, and your own level of self direction and initiative to do whatever it takes to keep afloat. Talk to your local chamber of commerce; many cities have retired business owners available for advice. I wish you well.

You can create your own websites or blogs @ blogger.com and put up your products' photos. If you can
create websites or blogs and can type, you can make online money online easily.
You may make money by publishing Google Adsense on your websites.
If you have a website or a web-blog, you could make money by publishing advertisements on your site (by
google). If someone clicks on those ads, you will earn money.
If you don't have a website, you may start creating web-blogs like blogger.com (mostly free) with
advertisements (google ads) on it. Some free websites don't allow you to publish google adsense becaus
they are doing it themself.

If your business is going to be out of your home...the freedom you get from home is great...no more commiting in traffic, lots of time with your family and friends etc
