It is a very good question, but no, It's not that wierd - what else is there to do.
As far as ants are concerned, I think they are just happy they lead fulfilled and meaningful lives. I don't think they worry too much about the wandering around part of life.

It is sad to me to think your life is worth no more than an ant's life. My journey in life is not aimless. I have lots of goals mostly pertaining to how I can be a better person, and how I can be a better mom or friend or wife. I'm sure an ant only thinks about building a great big home around the queen and finding her food. Weird comparison.
