I'm 25, and I can see both sides of the fence on this one.
Yes, because young people should be aware of the issues that affect them, and aware of the proposals of candidates. Adults aren't always unconcerned with themselves.
No because if someone proposed shortening the school week, or something else similarly unimportant (but "awesome" to a young person), their uninformed vote would go to a place undeserving.

I don't see the harm in it. I don't know if adding 16 and 17 year olds would make more people vote.

I am 24, and I have voted in the every single election town, state, federal since I turned 18. When I was a senior in high school I had a government class. The teacher pressed how important it was to keep up on events. Anytime I hear about an issue coming up in congress that I believe is important I write or email my opinon.

If you don't vote then you are saying you don't care.

I'm 28. I have no problem with changing the age limit for voting. Youth have rights too. I think it is wonderful for those who want to educate themselves about politics, get involved and hold the government responsible.

No, the majority of 16 year olds aren't mature enough or care enough to cast an informed vote.

I think 16 is too young. 18 is appropriate. I'm 32 years old.
