should i tell my family that i have a boyfriend or jus wait until my 18th? its in 23 days!!! i cant wait for it !! i wanna tell them but they think im still a baby!! my cousin saw his truck out side my house las night and she called my phone and said that it better jus be my friend in there and that it better not be a guy. i didnt say anything to her when she was sneaking aroung with her boyfriend. i have a feeling that she's gonna find out. i dont want my family to him. im jus not ready for them to know. hes a good guy...what should i do?

well to be honest it has nothing to do with your cousin and I would remind them of that fact and also of the fact that you covered for them, your parents however have a vested interest. 17 is not to young to have a BF but as parents we worry, there is so much to worry about these days.they will want to meet him and do the whole talk thing LOL. the best thing you can do is talk to them explain you are not a baby anymore and prove to them that you are a responsible person now. Trust and respect is something that is earned and that's from both child and parent. Be patient and once they meet this man of yours I am sure it will put a lot of their fears to rest. the important thing is to be grown up and talk to them, don`t not be confrontational.

I think you're old enough to have a b/f so why not tell them unstead of waiting. They can't force you to break up with him or forbid you to see him. Technically you're almost an adult. Your family probably already knows or have already at least received a hint that you're seeing someone. They're going to find out eventually so why hide it. If you really like him and want to be with him, introduce him to your family.

Well, you are almost 18 you are old enough to have a boyfriend, your family will probably be happy for you, just introduce him and get it over with.
