Me and my partner live in Albuquerque, NM and we have been wanting to make some glbt couple friends.We are both in our mid 20's but we aren't big party animals...We do go out from time to time, but not enough to be "usuals" at gay clubs.
What are some ways we can make gay friends? We have very few...

Get involved in things that interest you - sports, arts, politics, church, etc. Join teams, campaign organizations, classes, workshops, retreats, etc. There are gay people everywhere!
Personally - and this is only for me, not necessarily others - but I've never made real friends at clubs. Face it, LOL, how much can you have in common with somebody that you have to shout to speak to? LOL

Get involved in your glbt community. In New Mexico there is the Common Bond Info Line 550 891-3647. 24hr. covers the lgbt community.
Lots of people are not into the bar scene! You are SOOO not alone there. Try Women in Movement in New Mexico (MIMIN) 505 889-3627. Production company for the Southwest's premier women's music & art festival Wiminfest (memorial day wknd. They have other events throughout the year.
There is a womens specific bath and day spa!! Betty's Bath & Day spa (that sound so much more fun than the bar now doesnt' it?) 505 341 3456.
There are numerous spiritual groups in your area: Dignity New Mexico, Emmanuel MCC, First Unitarian Church, MCC of Albuquerque. Maybe you can find something there?
The more active you are in your community the more likely you are to find people of like mind. Best wishes!

I made very good and close (location) friends when i paid for a one month membership in Tangowire. Type in newmexicogaysingles and it should comeup. There are a lot of women looking for penpals and friends as well as lovers on that site. Also try MySpace.com

I would have to say call a gay/lesbian center in your area... Go on the intranet and find activities in your area that are gay... Look for sports, music, plays, gatherings and go for it.... Or on line look under new Mexico gay and lesbian resources... Good luck

We are in the same boat. Both gay here. What I have done is have dinner parties or movie nights. It seems to work real well.

go to the clubs, thats the best way im sure and since you said you don't go often then u should, It doesn't mean u have to drink to go, just go and have fun

first of all .........when u r making friend dont think that u r making some gay or lesbian a friend............treat that person as ur friend ........n mind it u will make really gud friends
