Ghosts generally only last a few hundred years, there are a few Roman ghosts but I don't think I have ever heard of earlier ghosts that are still active. I have certainly never heard of a Neanderthal ghost.

Ghosts last as long as their energy field that hold them is not destroyed i.e. if a house has been standing for 100 years the energy or photo imprint will allways remain and active ut when the house is destroyed the imring dies with it.
Think of a film that keeps playing again and again. Once the film breaks so does it stop showing.
Note: Ghosts are a memory in time and not interactive. Spirits are the energy from ourselves who have died and you can interact with them.
