In my opinion it boils down to two things and that is recruiting and discipline. You measure a successful coach after he has been at the helm for four years. Then most of the players are the ones that he has recruited. In this regard, Coker is going downhill.
The 'U' has always prided itself on 'swagger' by intimidation and trash-talking. They have been successful in backing that up by terrific speed on defense as well as skilled players on offense. They don't have that this year and Coker does not have a handle on discipline in that they do not know how to handle adversity.
I was totally surprised when LSU drubbed them 40-3 with a second-string quarterback at the end of last year and Miami doesn't look as if it has recovered.
I would register a no-vote of confidence with Coker.
Remember Terry Bowden when he took over Auburn from Pat Dye. Went undefeated with Pat's boys that year and after that it was all downhill. If Coker played in the SEC it would have been the same for him.

I think the problem this year was Coker getting rid of all his assistants. Good thing for the U that Coker will be gone after this year. Just remember; Butch Davis is still out there.
