Use Nero not WMP. Download it free at:

Not sure about Windows media player, but with Roxio and most other programs, you can burn disc to disc without going on the hard drive.
Remember, copying the CD to the computer is temporary - it is removed once the CD is burned.

WMP is terrible at burning CDs...it usually quits with an error (at least in my experience). If you want to copy CDs, try CloneCD...it will make a perfect backup copy for you. Also, try CDBurnerXP Pro.

I have that same program. What I found is downloading the CD, burning. Then going back to edit your songs. erasing the downloaded songs are very easy. You just gotta play with the program. The longer your play, the easier it gets.

Is the CD copywritten? If it is it is illegal to copy or to burn another copy. You are stealing royalties from the artists, songwriters, and publishers. Why not just buy another copy?
