As an alternative to quantitative research which focuses on crunching numbers and data, qualitative research is more subjective and can include surveys of opinions, for example. Here's a question to differentiate the two easily. You know "quantitatively" it takes four men to do the job. But the "qualitative" approach would try to answer the question, "How well did they do the job?"
