Yes, true conservative.
Very, very disappointed with Bush & Congress GOP spending like drunken sailors, and expanding the welfare state. Disappointed with Congress for failing to tackle Social Security reform. Disappointed with both for needing a near-revolt to do something about illegal immigration. Then there's the steel tariffs, the FEMA wastes of money, etc.
However, not all that they've done is bad or wrong. I do support the War on Terror, the tax cuts and his selections for Supreme Court.

I am a conservative both morally and fiscally. I consider Bush a Republican who supports big government. There are different types of Republicans who do not support the President
1. Media hogs who only want power and a nice fluff piece: McCain, Graham, etc.
2. RINO's Republicans in Name Only: Snow, Collins, Chaffee, etc. They have an R next to their name, but are only in the party because we need them for a majority.
3. Country Club Republicans who look down on the working people like liberals do. As long as Republicans do things that directly help them, they do not care about the rest.
4. Isolationists. Pat Buchannan is the leader of this group. They do not understand the threat of terrorism and want to build a wall around the US and dig their head in the sand.

I consider myself Conservative in most areas, but not all. I am a registered republican and a Bush supporter. I will always vote for the best person no matter what party they represent. I want Godly leaders. I will never vote for Hillary Clinton, unless satan himself is the other choice. A republican that has other views could still be a republican, I might vote for him if he believes in right to life and following God. A republican does not have to agree with all of Bushes views. A Christian, however, is supposed to follow and support the leaders of the land.

Bush is a poor conservative. As are most of the Republicans on the Hill.
But he's the lesser of two evils ... I mean seriously. Does even the hardest-core Democrat on here think John Kerry is SERIOUSLY the best and brightest we have to offer as leadership for the most powerful nation on the planet? I didn't say "better and brighter than Bush". That's a given.
Oh well. We'll get to do it all over again in '08.

You should be asking "registered Bush supporters" if they're clinically braindead or just garden-variety stupid.
I'd definitely agree that the current president is not "conservative" by any definition of the term. Fiscally? Don't make me laugh. Socially he's pandered to religious nutbags every time an election rolls around, but so-called conservative "social issues" are clearly not on the top of his agenda. And the truly radical changes to government that Bush has made in such a short time are certainly NOT "conservative" - they're more extreme than anything "liberals" could come up with in their wildest dreams. So why DO self-labeled "conservatives" support this guy? Are they confused?

Many conservatives and Republicans do not support the Bush policies.
It's difficult to be fiscally conservative when you inherit such a mess with a hugely depleted military. It costs money to build it back up and since it's nearly impossible to reduce social programs without a revolution of the poor it is just something we will have to live with until our destruction.

Bush is not nearly financially conservative enough for me, but he was the WAY lesser of two evils. I'm not as morally conservative, but I do want our President to be so.
I want a Regan conservative - low taxes, good economics, and won't take crap from the unions. (Remember the air traffic controllers? That was beautiful!) Regan put on a suit and tie before going into the Oval Office even if it was in the middle of the night. He had that much respect for the office and the Presidency. He had manners and pride.
That's the kind of President I want.
