It is probably due to gas. At that age a lot of the supposed expressions etc. are actually reactions to gas build up. This is why it is only sometimes you see it.

This can be normal. If she continues to do this when she is 3 months old then I would ask your doctor about it. Yes babies do this for a few months and then never do it again. However some babies require surgery or glasses to correct it. I'm not writing to this to be negative or scare you. I just thought you would want to know what could happen. Why? Because my son has a problem with his eyes and will need glasses to correct them. And everyone told me, "oh everything is normal". However everything could be perfectly fine with your daughter. Always hope for the best but be informed!
Good luck

Ha ha, had to laugh at this because my husband would get really spooked when our little girl's eyes did this. Yes, it is perfectly normal. According to our baby book, this is completely normal until three months of age, then your baby should be able to use her eyes correctly. If at three months they are still doing this, then it's time to ask your pediatrician about it. I cant remember exactly when she stopped her lazy eye routine, but it was probably around 2 or 2 1/2 mths. Now she's a perfect little 11 mth old. Don't worry about her eyes, I'm sure she's just fine!

Talk to your pediatrician. I have twin boys and both of them appeared to have had cross eyes when they were babies. They were seen by a specialist 2 or 3 times. (every 6 months). I was sure the Dr. would give them glasses or say they need surgery when they were babies and toddlers but they didn't. They are 4 yrs old and they are fine now. Good luck.

Yes it is normal, babies are still learning to focus at that age. But if you still feel uncomfortable about it, I'd ask an opthamologist. My youngest has eye problems and has had cornea transplants and still has problems with focusing normally. It may also be attributed to a lazy eye or slowly developing eye muscles. But most generally those problems fix themselves or can be fixed with covering one eye with a patch. Don't be overly concerned about it at this early age. As long as the baby is looking at you and responds to you, it should be fine.

She is still trying to gain focus of the world around her, so it's normal for her eyes to go cross now and again. But if it keeps up in the next few months you might want to let her pediatrician know.

maybe you can give her some excercise that will help her eyes develop. at 2 months she might be getting to be able to focus on colors, and see some movements around the room she is in. Give her some interesting things to look at, get her to track your moving finger and other objects which may look interesting to her, teach her to associate the sound of voices she knows with things she can look at, give her a colorful environment with lots to look at, and before you know it she'll be doing all kinds of neat things with her eyes.
Right now I think she just hasn't developed the muscles she needs to focus her eyes or control their movement. Give her time and love and those things will come together. Make it fun for her and you will have lots of fun, too. Good luck!

It is normal. She is probably trying to focus. They all do it. I was a little worried too, but all 3 of mine did it when they were babies. They stopped by 3 or 4 months.

Don't worry! It is quite normal. Baby's can't focus properly until about 4-5 months! Ask the health visitor next time!

When babies are so young their eyes do weird things. Can look cross eyed, sometimes look like they are spinning around. I would not worry, but you will have a 3 month check up soon enough, ask your dr. when you see him next.
