Did you know that men cycle each day while women only do it once a month? Men's hormonal levels peak early in the morning every day - which is why it's often not a good idea for business to have meeting in the early morning as they tend to be more combative rather than productive.
Women go through this hormonal cycle but once a month and not all experience the same degree of pain or discomfort from the physical side of menstruation. For those that do, feeling like someone is repeatedly punching you in the gut could most certainly lead to being a bit testy.

How do you think you would act if your hormones were out of whack, you were bloated so that half of your clothes don't fit comfortably, you had stomach cramps, headaches, cravings, AND the dam bleeding???
Why do MEN like to irritate us so when we're on our periods?
And yes, I'm currently PMS-ing.
