Best way to live quite comfortable is to hire a private apartment
they run in the area of 100 dollars/night. Easy to find in the net and reliable on my experience. Accommodation is the only major cost, if you are cost conscious never eat or drink anything within 3 blocks of Nevski Prospekt. They have beautiful selection of restaurants elsewhere in the city (other side of Neva) with 1/3 the price. StP is the most beautiful city in Europe and not expensive if you want to make it budget. My son lived a week there for 10 dollars a day (hostel accommodation).

Moscow is the most expensive city in the world according to 2006 rating of Mercer Human Resource Consulting. St Petersburg is on the 12th place.
Cost of living in St.Petersburg depends on where you live. I used to live in University's residence, which took me around $1000 (transport, food are included). If you prefer comfortable life in hotel, it will be more costly.

It doesn't matter, russian girls are very beautiful in general, if you get the chance to live there, then go for as long as you can afford it.
I found day to day life there not expensive except for the hotels.
St Petersburg is also a very lovely city, sometimes called Russia's Venice.

2500 USD should be enough for 1 person to pay for rent, food, bills, go shopping once a month, go out at least 2 times a week.
Of course, some people live on 500-700 USD a month but they have different views on 'comfort living'.

based upon the international economic gadget those days, St.Petersburg is pricey. yet not as costly in case you evaluate it to Berlin, or new york city. yet as you may desire to or would desire to not understand, St. Petersburg is the cultural middle of Russia. the city is eye-catching & the everybody is eye-catching. in case you talk to those that've traveled by way of Europe, they are going to all extoll Paris, Rome, Madrid, and so on., and so on. yet as quickly as you bypass to St. Petersburg (expecially in the summer), you will locate that the city has extra to grant than the others. I went to St.Petersburg as a vacationer. The plan became for a million week. Spent 3 months there. enjoyed each and every minute of it. attempt it, you will like it.
