What??? First of all, USP is not a port - I think you mean USB. Second, IEEE1394 is not a cable -- it is a protocal. IEEE1394 is the standard protocal for Firewire cables (not USB), and can also be used in windows for various task. So, in short, no, USB ports can NOT be used with Firewire cables.
