I know I just saw one two days ago. My granddaughter's red balloon accidentally got away from her as she was getting out of the car. She burst into tears and then I told her not to cry. I told her that her balloon was going to visit a little girl in China. She kept waving good bye until she couldn't see it anymore.

There had been a tearful child beneath the floating balloon.

No, because that would mean that every time a balloon was released a ghost of a dead child would go and pick it up for themselves and I don't think there are that many child ghosts in the world to take every balloon that is released.

well, more likely to be for every floating balloon there is an enviormental hazard. kills birds. Please don't release them! I once saw a picture of a young dead bird. They opened it's stomach. It died from starvation, because it had eaten so much garbage there was no room for food. It had some 30 - 40 pieces in it.

Not as much as when you see a baloon floating down the street and you stamp on it to burst it then suddenly realise that there is a very big, angry mother with a screaming child heading in your direction. I have never run so fast in my life!!!!
